Two people dead after Georgia hospital shooting
Two people are dead and two others are injured after a man opened fire inside a Georgia hospital. One of those injured is the shooter.
The shooting occurred inside the parking deck at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Georgia on the hospital's campus.
Witness Maggie Simpson, an ultrasound technician at Doctors Hospital, recounts the scene inside the hospital: "The guy kept following her around, she asked is there anything I can help you with, and he said no, turned around and shot her friend. She took off running. All she could hear was shots. She came back to see if he was still shooting. They called security. Security was running to help. One of the guys rounded the corner; he turned around, shot him in the head."
The officer followed the suspect to another part of the parking deck where the suspect opened fire on the police. The parking deck of Doctor's Hospital was under lockdown, with about a dozen officers securing the area. The suspect was shot himself by a plain clothed police officer.
