James McGreevey has issued a statement backing up Teddy Pedersen's stories of three-way romps with Jim and his estranged wife Dina Matos-McGreevey.

In an e-mail to The Associated Press, the nation’s first openly gay governor said published reports by the former campaign aide were true.

In his statement, McGreevey said he and his estranged wife need to move forward for the sake of their 6-year-old daughter.

“This happened, this happened in the past, and now we need to move on with our lives,” McGreevey, 50, said without being specific.

Pedersen says he was in a three-way relationship with Jim and Dina McGreevey. Dina says it isn't true, and she believes Jim put Teddy up to this.
