Hillary Clinton can still be Democratic nominee
It is almost time for another state to go to the polls, and until now the Socialite Report has not officially endorsed a candidate for President.
I have, however, written endorsements for Senator Hillary Clinton for GenerationQ Media and our "sister" site GaySocialites.com. Today, I want to add a different angle to the political endorsement idea.
It's clear that my support is behind Hillary Clinton. This race, for me, is not about breaking new ground or getting wrapped up in the glitz and glamor of politics. It is about doing what is right for our country.
In 2004, I jumped on Howard Dean's political bandwagon before it got derailed by John Kerry. Kerry said all the right things and earned my support, but he let me down in the general election. The race against George W. Bush was at his finger tips, but by the time the general election came around new voters were over it. John Kerry has endorsed Obama.
We're so far into this election that we need to look at which candidate is capable of winning in November. But more than that, we need to look at which candidate is right for our country.
There's no doubt in my mind that Barack Obama is a great man. He has a very unique way of attracting non-tradition voters, and I think he would be good for the Democratic ticket. I just don't think he is ready to be president.
I am going to start comparing Obama's experience to Senator Clinton's, but I do see that a lot of his campaign mistakes can be chalked up to inexperience. A lot of George Bush's presidential mistakes can also be credited to inexperience. Our country can't afford to go through this again.
The majority of Super Delegates are sending out a message to the country by keeping their support behind Hillary for so long. Senator Clinton is the candidate who can beat John McCain and turn this country around!
Pennsylvania voters can really change this election, and I encourage you to do so. The fact that Senator Clinton will have won the majority of "swing" states and done better in tradition "red" states will be great for her at the Democratic Convention later this summer.
A win for Hillary in PA will be just what her campaign needs to make it to the convention. I'm confident that Senator Clinton can walk away from that party convention as our nominee, and you might just get Obama on the ticket as well! Anything is possible at this point.
