iVillage TV gets canceled, replaced by Bonnie Hunt
If you're one of the few people who really enjoyed the grainy In the Loop with iVillage TV show, then you're out of luck.
iVillage.com's second attempt to conquer TV has failed. Employees of the show were told in February that "the cancellation is a cost-saving move by the stations group, recently renamed the NBC Local Media Division, but another source said it was low ratings that did in the show,” but I'm sure low ratings had something to do with it.
The show ceased production on March 21st.
Throughout the summer, the 10 stations that were carrying iVillage will run miscellaneous programming before replacing In the Loop with iVillage with The Bonnie Hunt Show.
UPDATE 4/26 : This story was updated to change the name of the show from iVillage Live to In the Loop with iVillage (maybe the name was the problem with the success of the show?). Evidently iVillage Live was their first failed attempt at a television show.
We also removed the photo that was sent to us by an anonymous former staffer. We have been that is private photo (even though it is all over the week).
Thanks to former iVillage Senior Broadcast Producer Hank Mendheim for setting us straight. Too bad we can't afford to hire him as a fact checker huh?
