WHDH General Manager Randi Goldklank goes diva gets arrested at airport
The general manager of Channel 7 in Boston went diva on Logan airport threatening to put a cop on television and ruin his life.
According to police, Randi Goldklank was causing a disturbance and screaming at the gate of her incoming flight. The cops tried to calm her down, but Randi got worse.
“Leave me alone, do you know who the (expletive) I am?” Goldklank screamed at the troopers who were called to the gate after Delta Air Lines to deal with an unruly traveler.
“I’ll have a news crew down here in minutes and you will lose your (expletive) jobs you (expletives),” the report quoted as Goldklank. “I’m a bigshot in Boston and I’ll have your (expletive) jobs.”
"I'm a bigshot in Boston and I'll have your (expletive) jobs, you think your a (expletive) tough guy, you just watch and see what the (expletive) happens to you when I get the (expletive) out of here," she told cops.
According to the police report:
• Troopers smelled a “very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage from her breath.”
• Goldklank struck a trooper in the chest, breaking the glasses in his shirt pocket.
• A trooper overheard Goldklank tell EMTs that she had “about three dozen drinks earlier’ and was taking Lexapro for depression.
• She told a police sergeant, “you think I’m cute and I think your (sic) cute, just drive me home.”
Goldklank was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.
An “Alcohol Influence Report” filled out by state police during Goldklank’s booking indicates that she was “cocky, combative, argumentative, staggering, thick tongued, unsteady and extreme,” according to court papers in East Boston District Court.
A WHDH spokeswoman said the station would not comment on the incident. Goldklank took over managing the station in July, after arriving in 2005 from their Miami sister station.
