Cablevision to take over Newsday

The folks over at Newsday have a new boss. Cablevision announced on Monday that their company has acquired the majority Newsday and its subsidiaries including New York City's free daily paper, AmNY.
The deal is still up for 30-day federal review, and assuming no violations are found the deal goed on. Both parties agree that there shouldn't be any hold ups.
Cablevision has said its board of directors has already approved the transaction and that shareholder approval is not required.
No word yet on whether or not Cablevision has any major changes planned for any of the Newsday publications.
Under the new deal, Cablevision will own 97 percent of the company while the previous owners, Tribune Media will retain about three percent.
