It is not even summer yet, and New York City is already in the midst of a heatwave.

This is the fourth day of scorching temperatures. The above photo was taken on Monday in Lower Manhattan showing the temperature at an even 100 degrees in the mid-afternoon.

New Yorkers are waiting on a rain storm expected to drinch the city later today that will hopefully be followed by some cooler weather.

Many residents are still without electricity throughout the entire state of New York. Some were lost power during the storm that is moving through.
