A Flirty Girl Fitness review and giveaway

Flirty Girl Fitness ~ Review & Giveaway from: The Way I See It

I'll be the first to admit that I am not crazy about exercising. I have never cared for aerobics and I loathe running. (Unless of course it's after my grandchildren.)
I do however enjoy dancing. I love to dance with my husband. I love dancing around the house with my grandchildren. I love dancing around the house by myself. Dancing is fun and after all, Girls just want to have fun, right?

Flirty Girl Fitness is all about dancing. Dancing that will improve fitness and dancing that will improve self esteem. Not necessarily dancing that you'll do at the next wedding reception you might attend but it is very fun to perform for that special someone.

Flirty Girl is the brainchild of sisters, Kerry and Krista Knee. They have two Flirty Girl facilities, in Toronto and in Chicago, where you can attend fitness classes including pole dancing. I live in California so, I did my "dancing" in the privacy of my home with the Flirty Girl Fitness Program DVD collection. It didn't come with the "pole" *wink* but it did include a pretty pink feather boa.

I honestly had a blast with my Teaser collection DVD set. I enjoyed Chair Fit the most, however Booty Beat, Just Teasing and Chair Dance are just as fun. They're not difficult to follow and give a very good workout.

The program includes the Flirty, Fit & Fabulous Meal Plan and truth be told, Flirty Girl is all anyone needs for a fun, friendly fitness program to start the New Year with.

Win it at The Way I See It.

Source CBS News

(CBS) On Saturday, Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 48 Hours presents a special holiday broadcast of "The Lord’s Boot Camp." Through a unique collaboration Loki Films, producers of the Academy Award-nominated documentary Jesus Camp, the program takes an unprecedented look at three teenagers training to become Christian missionaries while also dealing with the pressures that teens face daily. This marked the first time a camera crew had been allowed to document the teens’ experiences at camp, their missions and their returns home.

In the summer of 2007, Tabitha Taylor of Bellwood, Pa., Nicole Scrivener of Tallahassee, Fla., and Valerie Smith of Las Vegas, Nev. were among the 700 kids who gave up the luxuries of ipods and cell phones to attend The Lord’s Boot Camp. At the two-week, no-frills training camp in central Florida, the girls face physical and mental challenges as they prepare to embark on evangelical missions in the U.S. and Africa and spread the word of God.

# Taylor, 13, is passionate about her religion and a natural-born leader who excels at camp, but struggles to fit in among her peers.

# Scrivener, 15, grapples with drug and alcohol abuse, straining her relationship with her family. Her rebellious attitude creates tension at camp, too.

# Smith, 17, is dedicated to her religious beliefs but finds it difficult to be away from her boyfriend as she faces the physical challenges of camp.

Immediately following the broadcast, log on to CBSNews.com to watch a spirited student panel of teenagers of different faiths and ethnicities. These students, from Staples High School in Westport, Conn. engage in a frank discussion and share their opinions about the kids in "The Lord's Boot Camp," and question the young missionaries' training and tactics.

What do you think? Will Barack Obama soften his attack on the Iraq war after visit?

POLITICAL REPORT

Barack Obama is on a tour of the two countries where we are fighting wars. Meanwhile, at home John McCain is running this ad attacking his foreign relations experience.

This a smart move by the McCain campaign, because Obama is going to get a lot of free publicity from his visits to Afghanistan and Iraq. McCain has to keep reminding swing voters that Obama isn't qualified to lead these fights.

Since his trip to Afghanistan, Obama has already called for more troops to that region.

Obama will probably come back painting a grim picture telling us how important it is to get out of Iraq soon.

What do you think?

What do you think? Is the New Yorker magazine cover too critical of Barack Obama or just satire?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

This, the lastest New Yorker Magazine cover, has Barack Obama's campaign furious!

In the cartoon cover art for next Monday's release, the New Yorker shows Michelle Obama with a gun strapped to her back as she "fist bumps" with her husband who is wearing a turban as an American flag burns beneath a photos of Osama bin Laden.

Barack Obama's campaign is condemning the New Yorker magazine cover as “tasteless and offensive,” and the McCain camp says they agree.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement: “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Sen. Obama's right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree."

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds quickly e-mailed: “We completely agree with the Obama campaign, it’s tasteless and offensive.”

The New Yorker says it's satire.

Is Miss USA cursed with a pageant fall?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

(From Janimation) you know my obsession with beauty pageants, right? i love them. over the top, campy, and dramatic. i can’t get enough of it. last year at the 2007 miss universe pageant, former miss usa rachel smith fell down during the evening gown competition. she became a youtube sensation until miss teen south carolina came around and talked about maps!

not to be outdone this years miss usa, crystle stewart, created a deja vu moment at the 2008 miss universe pageant in vietnam. crystle fell down as well during the evening gown portion. the result? she was eliminated from the top five. what is going on? did miss puerto rico put vaseline on the bottom of miss usa’s heels? poor crystle. i was rooting for her!

What about you? Were you rooting for Crystle too? Is Miss USA cursed?

Is Charles Rangel doing anything wrong with multiple rent stabilized apartments?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?
[take the survey below]

(From: Newser) – A testy Charles Rangel yesterday brushed off accusations that he had enjoyed special treatment in occupying four rent-controlled apartments, reports the New York Times. The veteran Democratic congressman denied he had a "sweetheart" deal with his landlord and slammed the Times article that started the controversy. The 78-year-old chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee expressed pride in being a lifelong Harlem resident, and said he pays the "maximum legal rent" for the units.

Asked he if thought it was fair for him to take up four units, three as a residence and one as an office, when there is a shortage of affordable housing in the city, Rangel said, “The question of fairness is so subjective.” At one point in the sidewalk press conference he was accosted by angry residents who accused him of ignoring their complaints about people being evicted. Asked by a Times reporter why he didn't disclose his rent discounts on his financial disclosure reports, Rangel shot back: “Paying the legal rent is not a gift. Are you doing this deliberately, or are you just stupid?”

Teddy Dupay accused of rape, did he do it?

Former Florida Gator Teddy Dupay seems to be in a heap of trouble.

According to ESPN:

"Teddy Dupay, who played on Florida's runner-up team in the 2000 NCAA tournament, was charged with beating and raping a woman last month at a Utah ski resort.

Dupay acknowledged in court documents that he and the woman got "a little rough" but denied committing rape. The woman said she and Dupay had a two-year relationship, but it was not clear whether they were still a couple when police were called to a Deer Valley lodge June 19.

The 29-year-old Dupay was charged last week with felony rape, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping. He is to be arraigned Monday in 3rd District Court."

Do you think he did it?

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones faces a felony drug charge after cops say he was inside a car cutting up cocaine with a credit card.

Police officers evidently approached a car where Jones and others were preparing their drugs. Cops even say they had to pull their gun when Matt wouldn't show his hands.

After searching the vehicle, police found a plastic bag filled with a white substance that tested positive for cocaine and a jar with what looked like marijuana residue.

Jones was a star quarterback at Arkansas and a first-round draft pick by the Jaguars in 2005.

BIG BROTHER: The cast of diversity

BIG BROTHER

CBS is expected to announce the new cast of "Big Brother 10" on "The CBS Early Show" Tuesday morning, but we already know this is the season of diversity.

"It’s the most diverse cast we’ve ever had in terms of ages, backgrounds, points of view, and personalities," executive producer Allison Grodner says "Big Brother 10". "Big Brother 9 involved couples, singles, and soul mates who were young, single, impulsive, and ready to party. We do a 180 with Big Brother 10. This summer you’re going to find a 22-year-old body builder and a 75-year-old great grandpa in the house, and everyone else in between. We’ve had diversity of age in past, but he's clearly the oldest contestant we’ve ever had."

"Big Brother 10" premieres Sunday night on CBS.

For those of you who have never seen it, "Big Brother" is a game of human strategy. The house guests are competing for a $500,000 cash prize, eliminating each other one-by-one.

By: Ariana Huffington

Last Friday afternoon, the guests taking part in Sunday's roundtable discussion on This Week had a pre-show call with George Stephanopoulos. One of the topics he raised was Obama's perceived move to the center, and what it means. Thus began my weekend obsession. If you were within shouting distance of me, odds are we talked about it. I talked about it over lunch with HuffPost's DC team, over dinner with friends, with the doorman at the hotel, and the driver on the way to the airport.

As part of this process, I looked at the Obama campaign not through the prism of my own progressive views and beliefs but through the prism of a cold-eyed campaign strategist who has no principles except winning. From that point of view, and taking nothing else into consideration, I can unequivocally say: the Obama campaign is making a very serious mistake. Tacking to the center is a losing strategy. And don't let the latest head-to-head poll numbers lull you the way they lulled Hillary Clinton in December.

Running to the middle in an attempt to attract undecided swing voters didn't work for Al Gore in 2000. It didn't work for John Kerry in 2004. And it didn't work when Mark Penn (obsessed with his "microtrends" and missing the megatrend) convinced Hillary Clinton to do it in 2008.

Fixating on -- and pandering to -- this fickle crowd is all about messaging tailored to avoid offending rather than to inspire and galvanize. And isn't galvanizing the electorate to demand fundamental change the raison d'etre of the Obama campaign in the first place? This is how David Axelrod put it at the end of February, contrasting the tired Washington model of "I'll do these things for you" with Obama's "Let's do these things together":

Is Barack Obama a flip flopper?

POLITICAL REPORT
[take the poll at the end of the story]

From Reuters:
By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said on Saturday his plan to end the Iraq war was unchanged and he was puzzled by the sharp reaction to his statement this week that he might "refine" his timetable for withdrawing U.S. combat troops.

"For me to say that I'm going to refine my policies I don't think in any way is inconsistent with prior statements and doesn't change my strategic view that this war has to end and that I'm going to end it as president," Obama told reporters on his campaign plane.

Obama, who based his drive to capture the Democratic nomination on his early and ardent opposition to the war, said earlier this week he might alter his plan to bring combat troops home within 16 months of taking office if conditions on the ground changed.

The comment drew heavy coverage and sharp criticism from some on the left and the right, with Republicans saying it showed he was vacillating on Iraq.

"I was a little puzzled by the frenzy that I set off with what I thought was a pretty innocuous statement," he said on a flight from Montana to St. Louis. "I am absolutely committed to ending the war. I will call my joint chiefs of staff in and give them a new assignment and that is to end the war."

Obama will face Republican John McCain, a staunch advocate of the war, in a November presidential race that is certain to focus heavily on the future of U.S. troops in Iraq.

"What's really puzzling is that Barack Obama still doesn't understand that his words matter," said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds.

Obama said he did not make a mistake with his earlier choice of words in describing his Iraq position -- even though he called a second news conference a few hours after his initial comments to clarify his stance.

He laid the blame with reporters.

"I'm surprised at how finely calibrated every single word was measured. I wasn't saying anything I hadn't said before, that I didn't say a year ago or when I was a United States senator," said Obama, who is still a senator from Illinois.

'VERY CONSISTENT'

"If you look at our position, it's been very consistent," he said. "I am unwavering in the belief that this has been a strategic mistake and that this war has to end. It would be a further strategic mistake for us to continue with an open-ended occupation of the sort that John McCain has promised."

Obama said his willingness to consider changing conditions on the ground and the potential ramifications of the pull-out plan was a strength -- and a sharp contrast to Republican President George W. Bush's stay-the-course strategy in Iraq.

"The tactics of how we ensure our troops are safe as we pull out, how we execute the withdrawal -- those are things that are all based on facts and conditions," he said.

"I'm not somebody who, like George Bush, is willing to ignore facts on the basis of my preconceived notions. I want to pay attention to what is happening on the ground."

Under heavy pressure from McCain, who criticized his failure to visit Iraq since 2006, Obama plans to travel to Iraq and Afghanistan. The dates have not been announced for security reasons but the trip is expected within the next month.

While Obama would not admit a mistake in describing his views on Iraq, he said he had plenty of room for improvement as a presidential candidate.

"One of the things I've always tried to do is learn from mistakes and try to get better," he said.

"There is a learning curve and growth being a presidential candidate. I think I'm a much better candidate now than I was six months ago or 12 months ago. I think I'll be a better communicator and even more effective six months from now."
Jesse Helms not getting any sympathy after death. Do you agree or disagree?

AGREE OR DISAGREE?
[sound off below]

From America Blog:

One of the most hateful men in American politics is dead:

Former U.S. Sen. Jesse Helms, a North Carolina Republican who became an icon to conservatives, died Friday at the age of 86, a senior congressional source told CNN.
Can't even begin to think of anything nice to say about this guy -- but a lot of other people will start praising Helms as if none of the hateful stuff matters. The hateful stuff matters. Let's reminisce on the life of one of America's biggest bigots who ruined the lives of so many.

Jesse Helms on "negroes":
As an aide to the 1950 Senate campaign of North Carolina Republican candidate Willis Smith, Helms reportedly helped create attack ads against Smith's opponent, including one which read: "White people, wake up before it is too late. Do you want Negroes working beside you, your wife and your daughters, in your mills and factories? Frank Graham favors mingling of the races." Another ad featured photographs Helms himself had doctored to illustrate the allegation that Graham's wife had danced with a black man. (The News and Observer, 8/26/01; The New Republic, 6/19/95; The Observer, 5/5/96; Hard Right: The Rise of Jesse Helms, by Ernest B. Furgurson, Norton, 1986)

The University of North Carolina was "the University of Negroes and Communists." (Capital Times, 11/22/94) Black civil rights activists were "Communists and sex perverts." (Copley News Service, 8/23/01)

Of civil rights protests Helms wrote, "The Negro cannot count forever on the kind of restraint that's thus far left him free to clog the streets, disrupt traffic, and interfere with other men's rights." (WRAL-TV commentary, 1963) He also wrote, "Crime rates and irresponsibility among Negroes are a fact of life which must be faced." (New York Times, 2/8/81)
Helms on "degenerate, weak, sick homosexuals":
Over the years Helms has declared homosexuality "degenerate," and homosexuals "weak, morally sick wretches." (Newsweek, 12/5/94) In a tirade highlighting his routine opposition to AIDS research funding, Helms lashed out at the Kennedy-Hatch AIDS bill in 1988: "There is not one single case of AIDS in this country that cannot be traced in origin to sodomy." (States News Service, 5/17/88)
Helms being a racist:
And the man ABC News now describes as a "conservative icon" (8/22/01) in 1993 sang "Dixie" in an elevator to Carol Moseley-Braun, the first African-American woman elected to the Senate, bragging, "I'm going to make her cry. I'm going to sing Dixie until she cries." (Chicago Sun-Times, 8/5/93)
Helms filibusters making Martin Luther King day a national holiday:
A year before the election, when public polls showed Helms trailing by 20 points, he launched a Senate filibuster against the bill making the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. a national holiday. (David Broder, Washington Post, Aug, 29, 2001)
On cutting AIDS funding:
Sen. Jesse Helms says the government should spend less money on people with AIDS because they got sick as a result of "deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct," The New York Times reported Wednesday....

"We've got to have some common sense about a disease transmitted by people deliberately engaging in unnatural acts," Helms told the Times.

And before anyone says that Helms came around on AIDS in his later years. No he didn't. He came around on AIDS in Africa. Still didn't want to help Americans with AIDS because, you know, they were homersexuals.
